Description of activity
Since completing her PhD in 2017, Veera Kinnunen has worked in several research projects investigating more-than-human relations and living with unwelcome beings and entities, such as clutter, waste, and microbes. She is the co-lead of HOMINGS research project. Her work examines naturecultural infrastructures and metabolisms, and engages with more-than-human ethics of care. Methodologically she develops ethnographic imaginations to inquire into more-than-human concerns. Starting from 2026, she is the chief-editor of leading Finnish social scientific journal Sosiologia published by the Westermarck Society.
