Putaala, Jussi
Description of activity
Dr. Jussi Putaala received the M.Sc., Lic.Tech., and D.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Oulu, Finland, in 2005, 2009, and 2015, respectively. He is working as a Project manager in the Microelectronics Research Unit (MIC), under Faculty of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering (ITEE), University of Oulu.
He has supervised or participated in more than 20 national and international research projects (EU, Tekes/Business Finland, industrial and academic partners). He has over 30 refereed publications listed in Scopus (h-index 10, >200 citations). He has supervised or co-supervised seven BSc/MSc theses and works as a group member for ITEE tenure track and professorship committee. He has worked as a lecturer, calculus exercise instructor, and lab exercise instructor in several electronics courses in Microelectronics Research Unit and Optoelectronics and Measurement Techniques Unit (ITEE).
He has received the 2020 Emerald Literati Awards for Excellence: Outstanding Reviewer Distinction from the Soldering and Surface Mount Technology Journal and the 2011 Best Paper Award in the Electronics Manufacturing Category Distinction from the IEEE Transactions on Components, Packaging and Manufacturing Technology Journal.
His research interests include electronics interconnections and their reliability and prognostic monitoring methods.
