I am Professor in Information Studies at the Research Unit of History, Culture and Communication Studies, Faculty of Humanities. My research has concentrated on people's competencies and practices to seek, evaluate, use, and create information in everyday life, particularly in health settings and I have been granted the title of docent in health communication at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Oulu. Currently, I work within the GenZ strategic profiling theme of the university with a team that examines the practices and competencies of young people in everyday information worlds shaped by AI-powered tools.
